Mission

The Sickle Circle of Manitoba exists to enrich the lifestyle and health of all people living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Through fundraising, workshops and public events, we will improve advocacy, education and outreach for families living with SCD and thereby raise awareness across Manitoba. 

Goals

Newborn Screening has reached the top of our list. In Canada, three provinces remain to add Sickle Cell Disease to the Newborn Registry. It is of utmost importance to get SCD on the list, to avoid missed diagnosis. We want to provide education sessions for patients, families, and health care workers in order to work towards standardized care in Manitoba for SCD patients. Lastly, patient outreach. We are here to provide support not only for patients but also for extended families and friends whose lives are affected by Sickle Cell Disease
